In Mark 1:40-45, we have the story of Jesus healing a man from leprosy. This man came begging and kneeling before Jesus and said “if you choose, you can make me clean.” This man heard about what Jesus had done for others. When people were identified to have leprosy, they were dismissed from their town. They lived the rest of their days as outcast-not able to interact with other people. This man felt he had nothing to lose and everything to gain by engaging Jesus. Now, what would happen next was left up to Jesus. He was moved with pity and said “I do choose. Be made clean.” The bible says “Immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.” After this, Jesus instructed him to not tell anyone. When the man thought about what Jesus had don’t for him, he said I can’t keep it to myself. He realized he no longer had to stay outside the town, and was able to be among others. He was now able to live again, there was no way he was able to contain himself.
You need to be vocal about what Jesus has done in your life. When you share what The Lord has done in your life, you are helping others. There is someone who is dealing with what you have been through. They need to know you serve a mighty God who is able to do the impossible, by taking any situation and turning it around. That is exactly what He has done for you, that’s why I can’t keep it to myself!
