For many of us, we came to Jesus when there was no other alternative. I know this does not sound good, but it’s the truth. I’m not questioning your faith, but the reality is that many of us thought we could figure it out. The more we tried to resolve the issue the bigger the problem grew. Yes, we had good intentions but that did not matter. Things didn’t change for us until we realized the problem was too big for us to resolve. When we reached this point we became frustrated and angry, and we were prepared to give up. Why, because nothing was working, and things didn’t get any better. This is where we had to go in order for the Lord to get our attention. It was at this point we were willing to turn it over to the Lord. Look at us now, we are living our blessed life because we placed our lives into the hands of the Lord. It doesn’t matter how long it took, you are now a living testimony of what the power of the Lord can do.
In Mark 5:25-34, a woman is suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years. This woman had spent all of her money with physicians to resolve the problem. Nothing they did worked for her and the issue she was having was getting worse. I can see this woman in her home feeling frustrated and angry because her condition was getting worse. However, when she was at her lowest point, she heard about the healing power of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was in her town, she made the decision to go to Him. There was a problem she had to face, it was the crowd. There were so many people pressing against Jesus, it would be hard for her to reach Him. She had made the decision to press through the crowd, and touch His cloak. The woman had faith to believe, if she touched anything that was connected to Jesus her issue would be healed. Before she approached Jesus, she had to make the decision to go amongst the people while she was unclean. The issue made her unclean, which meant she was not to go around others. This was an obstacle she would not allow to block her blessing. What are you allowing to get in your way, and block your blessing? After the woman reached out to Jesus and touched the cloak, immediately her hemorrhage stopped.
This was a time to be excited, but she heard Jesus say, “who touched my clothes?” The disciples did not understand why Jesus raised this question, because during the whole time He was walking people were touching Him. But, the touch of faith from this woman released power from Him. The touch did not weaken Jesus, but alerted Him somebody reached out to Him in faith. Jesus knew who did it, but He wanted the woman to share her truth with those around Him.
Have you made the decision to come to Jesus in faith, so that He can resolve your issues? You know how much time was spent trying to resolve it, but nothing was improving. Now you are at the point where you are willing to step out on faith. I know you are nervous and unsure, but reach out to Jesus with your hand of faith. You are going to be amazed at what He is going to do for you. Continue to walk in your blessings!
