No one can escape having to deal with a dilemma. We spend a lot of time looking at the options and we see nothing but negative outcomes in all of them. During the pandemic, we have faced some dilemmas. How can we effectively serve the Lord without getting infected by the virus? This becomes even more intense for those that have underlying health issues. There is someone in the Bible who had to make a decision. It was tough for her because she thought none of the options had a positive outcome.
In Esther 4:8-17, Esther was told about the letters sent throughout all the provinces from the king. The letter gave orders to kill all the Jews. When Mordecai heard what was to happen, he sent word to Esther letting her know, now is the time. She is to go before the king to get an audience with him and ask him to stop this from happening. The dilemma for Esther was if she goes before the king without being called, she can be killed unless he lifts the golden scepter. What was weighing on her mind, she had not been called to come to the king in thirty days. So, she felt the king had distanced himself from her. Also, the king does not know that Esther is a Jew. So, you can see why Esther is hesitant in wanting to go before the king. Then Mordecai sends word to her, perhaps you are in the right place at the right time. He is making Esther aware she is not in this position by accident, it’s part of God’s divine plan. Before receiving this response from Mordecai, she could not see any option that would bring a positive outcome. However, after receiving these words it changed her outlook, and she stated, “if I perish, I perish.” Why, because she realized God was the One guiding her life and had put her in the right place at the right time.
What decision do you have to make, but all you see is negativity? You have to remember the Lord has been guiding your life every step of the way. You are in the right place at the right time. When you embrace this view, then there is no question you will allow the Lord to guide your life. This will move you to make the decision that has been anointed by the Lord. Continue to walk in your blessings!
