On Thursday many will sit at a table filled with an assortment of dishes. Some will eat so much that they will have to unbuckle their belts. Others will be so excited about seeing family and friends that eating will take a back seat. Whatever we do on Thanksgiving Day, let’s not lose sight that we have a lot to be thankful for. We want others to understand, if The Lord had not showed us grace and mercy, we would not be able to celebrate this holiday. That is why we must do as is stated in Psalm 113:1, “Praise The Lord!” This is where we begin as Christians; we understand all things have been made possible through The Lord. All of us have come to The Lord because we were in need. I am so thankful that when we came to The Lord, He did not turn His back on us, but lifted us up as it is stated in Psalm 113:7.
On Thanksgiving Day, let us begin with praising The Lord and let this be the theme for all that takes place. Also, let us remember we have a lot to be thankful for, because The Lord has brought us a might long way. The blessing is He still uses us to His glory and honor. So, enjoy the time with family and friends and always remember Thanksgiving is more than a turkey.
