Christians are to be examples to the world of how The Lord is able to transform lives. Therefore, when people see what The Lord has done for us, we want them to know; He can do the same for them. This sounds good, but how many of us are doing it? We have to remember, we were not deserving of what The Lord has done for us. We have been changed because He loves us, and did not want us to remain in our sins. There are too many people dying everyday in their sins, because they don’t think it’s possible for them to change.
In Titus 3:3 – 7, Paul is telling Titus to remind the people how they were prior to being saved. Their transition did not take place because they were entitled, but through “the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared.” (Verse 4). When people understand, the goodness and love God has for us-in spite of what we have done. Then we understand, we don’t have to remain in our sins. Change is possible. When we are changed, we are able to let others know He will do the same for them. However, if we come off as though we are deserving of what God has done for us we will push people away. Our goal is not to distance ourselves from other, but learn to connect with people. When we do they are able to understand what appears to be impossible becomes a possibility. This is imperative because we want them to know, The Lord did the impossible for us!
