In Hebrews 4:14 – 16, the writer wants us to understand we have a high priest that has been where we are going. This is significant because, that means we have a God who can relate to what we are going through. The only difference is that when He went through it, He did not sin. We know we have been through some situations that we did not come out sinless. Since we were unsuccessful, rather than coming closer to the throne of grace, we tend to distance ourselves because we sinned. We do this because when others know what we have done, they will distance themselves from us. It seems natural for us to think God does not want us to come close to Him. It is the opposite, God wants us to come closer; that is why it is called the throne of grace.
God understands we don’t pass every situation in life. There are times we fail miserably. During these times, we need to come closer to the throne of grace. Why? “So that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16.
It’s time for you to realize you are flawed and mistakes will happen. What you do after a mistakes determines the direction your life will go. You want to see things improve after a mistake, then you have to come closer.
