We are now in the season of Advent, when we look at what Jesus came to offer to the world. His initial offering was Himself, to release us from the bondage on sin. To give us the opportunity to establish a relationship with God the father, through the actions of the Son. We can be saved by Jesus when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Once this is done Jesus has a gift for us, the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:37-42, we read the response many had to Peter preaching his initial sermon. They raised the question (verse 37) “what should we do?”. Their actions were letting the apostles know, that which was promised has come to past. They are able to see the Holy Spirit working right before their very eyes. Letting them know the Holy Spirit is a gift from the Lord, and not only for them but all that repent of their sins, and are baptized. Then they will be able to receive this same gift. That day about three thousand people were saved!
There are a number of people that have been beaten down by sin, and believe life can’t improve for them. That’s when you come in and let them know, yes it can! This is the challenge I place before you: to share the Gospel with somebody. Don’t share by quoting a number of scriptures, but share how the Word of God has impacted your life. Then you will talk about the gift the Lord has for them. Now go!
