In Psalm 55:22 David is talking about the need to cast our burdens on The Lord. This Psalm was inspired from David’s son trying to take over as king of Israel. David was devastated by the thought that his own son wanted to kill him and take over his kingdom. David realized this situation was weighing him down and he had to do something about it. So, he cast his burden on The Lord. After making this decision, David learned that God will sustain you and never permit the righteous to be moved.
What extra weight are you carrying that is becoming a burden so great that you are almost at the point of giving up? The burden is so great because you don’t know who you can trust. I want you to know you can trust The Lord with everything and He will always make Himself available to you. When you cast your burden on The Lord, He will sustain you and not allow you to be moved. This is the benefit of casting your burden on The Lord. He knows it is weighing you down and He wants to lighten your load. I’m asking you to give it to The Lord, so that it won’t weigh you down any longer.
