It’s not uncommon for fragile items to be sent to you through the mail. When you open the box the fragile item is surrounded by bubble wrap to insure it stays intact. However, there are times the bubble wrap cannot withstand all the pressure to keep the fragile item from cracking or breaking.
Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7 uses the metaphor of clay jars in reference to human beings. Paul understands how fragile we are, but still God has placed treasure in us to share with the world. Why would God allow His treasure to be placed in a fragile thing like us? The extraordinary power of God is what will allow us to withstand the pressure of life. When others look at what we are going through, they are amazed that we are still standing. This is the time for us to give God all the glory, honor, and praise, because it’s the power of God that is keeping us. I want you to understand, when we are wrapped in the love of God through Jesus Christ, we will not break! In 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, Paul begins to list out the things that will attempt to break us, but we will withstand them through the power of God.
I want you to always remember; whatever you have been able to accomplish, or whatever storm you have been able to make it through, God is the one that wrapped you in His love and allowed you to withstand the pressure. That is the only reason you came through without a crack or a break. It’s the power of God that made it possible in your life. Give God the glory!
