There are times in Church people get excited, because they hear a song that touches their heart. Also, when they hear someone give a testimony about what God has done for them. However, when it’s time to present our tithes and offerings it appears the mood shifts and the excitement is gone. I wonder why this happens, because God is the one that supplies all of our needs. Everything we have been able to do is through the blessings of God. We have to make up our minds to be excited in our giving. We read in 2 Corinthians 9:7 “God loves a cheerful giver”. When we recognize all that God has done, we can’t help but be a cheerful giver. That sounds good but why is giving not a cheerful event for all? We have to apply the second principle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 9:6, “the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one that sows bountifully will also reap bountifully”. This is where the problem occurs, we want so much from God, but we give Him so little. When it’s offering time, they don’t have much to give because they sowed sparingly. This is the reason why they are not cheerful in there giving, because they have chosen the wrong principle.
You have to change your mindset if you want to reap bountifully. I understand your money may be tight, but have you taken your situation to God? You have to understand, God is the source where all resources come from to help in any situation. When you bring it to God, He will make away for you. So, the next time you bring your offering, I want you to feel good inside and out, and put a smile on your face.
