The relationship we have with Jesus Christ is one of love, care, and protection. When we look at what is happening in the world, I wonder how many people are wavering in their relationship with the Lord? Some may say they don’t feel loved by the Lord because of all that is taking place in the world. Others may say they don’t know if they are cared for because they don’t feel the presence of the Lord. People may think they are not protected by the Lord because they feel vulnerable and afraid. A number of people are raising questions about where is the Lord, but how many are raising their hands to give Him praise. In John 10:27-31, Jesus shares some important information with the Jews that have rejected His teaching.
The first thing Jesus says is, “my sheep hear my voice”. Saints, we have to know the Lord is constantly speaking to His sheep because we are dealing with so many things that can cause us to go astray. The Lord is speaking to us, to keep us on the right track, and let us know we are not alone. This is how our relationship with the Lord grows, by Him speaking to us. Through this happening, we no longer go as we think but we follow the Lord. Where ever He leads, we will follow because there is a purpose for the direction He is leading us. As we hear His voice and follow Him, there is no question He cares about us.
Our relationship is established in the Lord through faith. Then Jesus makes this statement, “I give them eternal life”. We have to know Jesus didn’t come just to change our direction on earth, but for all eternity. With us putting our complete trust in Him, our relationship with Him has no end. Also, we are now in His hands and no one can snatch us from Him. The Lord is letting us know that He provides our protection and no one is capable of removing us from His hands. In essence, we are secure in Jesus!
Then Jesus tells us the unity that exists between Him and the Father, and they are in agreement that we will not be snatched out of the Father’s hand. Through their relationship, we are able to see the love that exists between Father and Son. Also know, we are loved by our Heavenly Father, because He would not allow us to remain broken by sin. We know Jesus loves us, because He was obedient to the will of His Father, by giving His life for us. Therefore, we are cared for by Father and Son, and protected by them as well. Saints, we have a lot to be excited about, because we are secure! Continue to walk in your blessings.
