I wonder how many people are walking around feeling they are invisible? When people see them, they don’t even acknowledge them by saying hello. This is why a number of people are living hopeless lives because they don’t feel they matter to anyone. Saints, this may have been you at one point in your life but you had an encounter with Jesus Christ and your life has not been the same. Through your relationship with Jesus Christ, you came to understand I matter to God. His Son came to create an opportunity for you to make the best decision of your life. Now that you know better, you treat everyone with respect letting them know they are important to the Lord. However, there is someone in the Bible that had to create an opportunity for himself, because he was invisible to everyone else.
In Mark 10:46-52, we have a blind man named Bartimaeus who was sitting by the roadside. He heard Jesus was coming and began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” As he was doing this, the people around him sternly ordered him to be quiet. However, he ignored them as they had done to him as he sat on the roadside. The more they tried to silence him, the louder he got. His objective was to get Jesus’ attention. Those that were there knew Jesus was a healer and this man needed healing. When people see you as nothing, they are not aware of your needs. However, Jesus stopped and called for Bartimaeus. When they told him Jesus was calling him, he got up, threw off his cloak and came to Him. This man did not waste any time to get to Jesus, because he was not going to let this opportunity pass him by. What about you? What have you been dealing with, and have not given it to Jesus. It’s time for you to call out to Him, and not let the opportunity pass you by. When Bartimaeus came to Jesus, He asked him, “what do you want me to do for you?” This was a direct question that required a direct response. Bartimaeus was not going to beat around the bush, and said, “My Teacher, let me see you again.” Jesus said to him, “go; your faith has made you well.” This man immediately received his sight and followed Jesus.
It does not matter how others view you, because Jesus Christ loves you. So, when you have the opportunity to call out to Jesus for help, do it. If people around you are telling you to be quiet, get louder, because they don’t know what you are dealing with. You are calling out in faith to Jesus, because you believe He is able to do what is needed in your situation. You will not allow the opportunity to pass you by. Continue to walk in your blessing!
