How often are people faced with an obstacle and still search for the opportunity to go forward? What some people tend to do when confronted with an obstacle is turn around and go back. In Mark 2:1-12 we read about four men who brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus to be healed. However, when they arrived at Jesus’s house the crowd was so great they could not get to him. It would have been easy for them to turn around and go back home, but they would not allow the crowd to stop them. They took their eyes off the crowd so that they could see the opportunity on the roof. They carried their friend to the roof and dug through it and lowered him down to Jesus. Once Jesus saw the faith of the four men, he healed the paralyzed man. This is an amazing story of commitment made by four men to their friend who needed to be healed.
What efforts have you made to assist others to get to Jesus so that they could by healed, delivered, and set free? What obstacles have you faced in the process and did they cause you to turn back, or are you looking for the opportunity? When you are doing as The Lord has inspired you to do, you will have to deal with some obstacles, but He will always present you with the opportunity. In order to see it you have to take your eyes off the obstacle, then you will be able to see the opportunity.
