Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives. As Christians, we are thankful for Jesus Christ paying the penalty for our sins. In Hebrews 9:11-14, the writer wants us to know we have a high priest that offered Himself to give us eternal redemption. We are thankful, because while we were wrapped up in sin, Jesus came for us. He recognized that many would not understand what was being done and would call for Him to be crucified. This was necessary because through him being crucified, the sin of the world was also being nailed to the cross.
We are also thankful, because, we have been purified through the blood of Jesus Christ. This purification touches every aspect of who we are – so that we will be able to worship The Lord in spirit and in truth. The Lord has renewed our minds so that we no long focus on negativity. We have come to understand: The Lord has turned us around so that we are able to see God in every aspect of our lives.
