    Are-You-Willing

King Solomon was given the task to build God’s temple and once it was completed, the Lord spoke to him in the night.  This story is found in 2 Chronicles 7:12-16.  In verse 13 God tells Solomon what He is going to do in response to the actions of His people. Solomon receives specific instructions on what the people of God are to do in verse 14.  The first thing we have to do is humble ourselves in the presence of God.  Then recognize we are able to do all things, because God has blessed us. If we can’t do this,  then all the instructions that follow will not give us the results needed to move forward.  After we humble ourselves, then we can pray.  This is how we communicate with God, and there is no special verbiage needed.  Praying is speaking to God from what is within our hearts.  The purpose of our prayers is to seek God’s face, in essence feel the presence of God.  In His presence we realize what was done wrong, and turn from our wicked ways.  When these instructions are implemented, then God will hear our prayers in heaven.  The beauty in following the instructions is to get a response from God.  The first response is to forgive us of our sin.  Before God does anything around us, He has to cleanse us through forgiving us.  Then He will heal the land.  This becomes possible when we are willing.

One of the purposes of this scripture is to get us to recognize what we have done wrong. Then we should take the initiative to correct it. This raises the question, are you willing?  When you sin, it spreads around you and impacts others.  When you follow the instructions in 2 Chronicles 7:12-16, it help you, others, and your surroundings.  Therefore, I want you to see the potential of what God can do when you take His approach.  You are a difference maker!
