Today is Resurrection Sunday, the day Jesus got up. This is significant for Christians to let us know, no matter how bad it looks- it will get better. When you feel you can’t go on the Lord gives strength, when you are ready to throw in the towel the Lord does the unexpected. Saints, the Lord continues to remind us about the obstacles we will deal with in life, and they won’t overwhelm us. Because, He will always reveal the opportunities before us. None of this would have been possible without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, this is why we are rejoicing. We are not rejoicing because our lives are problem free, but we rejoice knowing there is no problem too big for our God. However, the only way for us to make it in this life is to continue to focus on Jesus. Before you can focus on Him, you must first seek to know Him, and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. This is exactly what Mary Magdalene and the other Mary did, when they went to the tomb looking for Jesus. In Matthew 28:1-10, we have Matthew’s account on what took place on Resurrection Sunday. All four Gospel stories differ in what took place in getting to the tomb, but they are all consistent in making us aware the tomb was empty. In Matthew we have Mary Magdalene and the other Mary going to the tomb on the first day of the week, expecting to see a dead body that was crucified a few days earlier. However, something happened once they reached the tomb, “suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from Heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.” The Jewish leaders had placed guards at the tomb, to make sure no one would come and remove His body, and then say Jesus was resurrected. Saints, there is nothing anybody can do to stop the will of the Lord. When these guards saw the angel, they were overtaken with fear and fainted. This was done to remove the obstacles that were before these women: the guards and the stone covering the tomb. The angel wanted them to see Jesus was not there, but had been raised from the dead. They were to be the first to learn Jesus had been resurrected, because they came looking for Him. When you make the effort to seek Jesus, He will make Himself available. As you go looking for Him, He is looking at your heart and sees you have a desire. They are instructed to go tell His disciples He is risen, so they leave the tomb to do as instructed. This is when Jesus meets them, and they grab His feet and begin to worship Him. They were blessed with His presence once they did as instructed, and immediately they could do nothing else until they stopped and worshiped Him. The Lord will not disappoint those that have the desire in their hearts, and are willing to follow His instructions. Do you have a desire in your heart to see Jesus? If so, He will make Himself available by allowing you to see Him through your blessings. Let me explain, when you were looking for a job, He opened the door. When you were not sure how a situation was going to work out, He blessed it in a way that you did not expect. I can go on, but the Lord has made Himself visible through blessings. Why does He bless you, because you have the desire in your heart. Continue to walk in your blessings!
