There are a number of things that generate excitement for people: watching their football team win a game, seeing your child accomplish their goals or being able to go on vacation to places you have not been. These are some things that cause excitement for you, but how do you feel about being a Christian? Are you excited about not being stuck in a life of sin anymore? How you go forward in life, expresses how you feel about being saved by Jesus Christ. I understand there will be days when you are not at your best. However when you think about what the Lord has done, it should lift you up. The reality about life is there will always be an obstacle attempting to block your blessings. But you have to make the decision to press on, no matter what might appear to be in the way. I think about Paul, who was an obstacle for many before turning his life over to Jesus Christ. This was the best decision he made, because he knew what he had done. Getting another chance was a blessing from the Lord.
In Romans 3:21-26, Paul is sharing with the Romans what the Lord has done for all who embrace Jesus Christ through faith. In reading these verses I can feel his excitement, for all the Lord has done for him. Knowing Jesus actions was not just for him, but all who place their faith and trust in Him. Paul was letting them know, no particular group has an advantage. Why, because, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. This is part of Paul’s excitement: no one is left out, everyone is given a chance if they believe. When he reflects on his own life, he feels like no one has fallen harder than him. Based on how he was living before coming to Jesus. Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to give the entire world an opportunity to be redeemed through His blood. Jesus did this to show the world how much we are loved by our Heavenly Father. No matter what sins were committed, when you make the decision to step out on faith and accept Jesus. All sins have been forgiven, this is why Paul is excited. No matter what they say he had done, once he came to Jesus all of his sins had been forgiven. Therefore, no one was going to change his attitude of gratitude, or cause him not to be excited.
Are you excited about what Jesus Christ has done for you? If so, then you ought to share with others what the Lord has done for you because He will do the same for them. No matter what they may know about your past they can’t cause you to fall. Why, because the Lord has picked you up, and is holding you up. So that you will not fall again. This is why I am excited! Continue to walk in your blessing!
