When I think about what Jesus Christ has done for us, I’m truly grateful. All of us have fallen short and have made a number of mistakes, but the Lord looked past all of that and saw our needs. We have many reasons to be thankful. There is a woman in the Bible that knows all about what the Lord has done, and was not ashamed to let it be known.
In Luke 7:36-50, A woman comes to the home where Jesus was having dinner and began to wash His feet with her tears. After doing this, she wiped them clean with her hair and then poured the ointment on them. After all of this, she kept kissing the feet of Jesus. What would move this woman to do this? I believe this woman had an encounter with Jesus, and it was a life-changing event. Once she knew where He was going to be, she made it her business to go to where He was. The two things driving this woman were faith and love.
The Pharisee that invited Jesus was appalled by the woman’s actions and thought Jesus had no idea who this woman was. The Pharisee was rudely mistaken because Jesus knew all about this woman. Jesus shared a parable with him about two people owing a creditor; one owed fifty, the other five hundred. The creditor canceled both of their debts. Then Jesus asked this question: which one will love him more and the response was the one with the largest debt. This woman had a large debt of sin that was canceled and wanted the Lord to know how much she appreciated what He had done. This is love in action. This woman was unapologetic for her actions because no one in the room knew how much the Lord had done for her. This woman was moved to do this by faith and Jesus said to her, “your faith has saved you, go in peace.” You have to remember the Lord will always respond when you are willing to step out on faith.
The Bible does not tell us about her past but makes us aware she needed Jesus to heal her. We don’t know what took place when she talked with Him, but she was no longer the same. This is what led her to go to the house where Jesus was and respond in an unapologetic way. She was not concerned about what anybody thought but knew what had to be done.
What about you, in worshipping and serving the Lord are you concerned about what people think? If yes, then you are restricting yourself, and not moving on faith. You have to remember those looking at you did not heal, or deliver you. Jesus Christ heals and He deserves all the glory, honor, and praise. This is why you love Him because He loved you in spite of what took place in your life. Therefore, you ought to be unapologetic in your service, worship, and praise, because if He hadn’t blessed you what would have happened. Go ahead and praise Him right now! Continue to walk in your blessings.
