As you journey through life there will be situations that arise, and you don’t know how to respond. They cause turmoil in your life, if you are not grounded in your relationship with the Lord. It can have you moving in many directions; trying to find a way through what happened. One of the things that happens in your life is when a loved one is called home to glory. This is a troubling time, and there is now a void in your life. You wake up in the morning and you find it hard to get out of bed. Everything you do now requires a tremendous amount of energy, because there is a void in your life. It is exhausting for you to go to Church and attempt to present yourself as though you have it all together. But once you get home you fall apart because you have nothing left. So, to minimize this from happening you avoid going to places where you have to use a lot of energy to hold it together.
As a child of God, this is not how the Lord wants you to live. You can’t escape life’s situations. We will all deal with loved ones passing, situations on our job, family problems, and the list can go on. Jesus has the plan for us to follow, that will allow us to continue to move forward. In John 14:1-6, Jesus is giving His disciples words of encouragement to help them through what is going to happen to Him. In the prior chapter, Jesus was preparing them for what He was about to go through. He knew initially the situation would be overwhelming to them. This is why He states in verse 1, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me.” It’s during these times the Lord wants you to hold on to your belief in God the Father, and God the Son. All the time the Lord spent with His disciples was to prepare them for this moment. They saw Jesus do what others thought was impossible, He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and raised the dead. He wanted them to see, He came to make the impossible possible. Jesus came to teach His disciples to think outside the walls. They were all living within the boundaries of sin, and the thinking of that time was that you can’t change situations. Nor, can you change yourself, or how you respond to life situations.
Jesus has to go. His work on earth has been completed. So, He was leaving to prepare a place for you, and He was coming back to get you. These are inspiring words Jesus shares with them, but Thomas needed clarity. Because, he did not know where Jesus was going, nor did he know the way. This allows Jesus to share His plan, He states, “I Am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus gives them the plan of success in life and ministry. Success happens when the Lord guides you because He is our GPS. With His guidance, He will have you do the impossible. As He leads you, the truth is revealed to let it be known change is coming. Then lives are transformed because sin no longer has us bound. We are now living through Jesus Christ. By all of this happening, we are able to come into the present of our Father. Because we followed the plan of Jesus Christ. Don’t allow life situations to overwhelm you. Let the Lord guide your way, show you the truth, and He will make your life brand new. The Lord has everything you need to be victorious, therefore, follow His plan. Continue to walk in your blessings!
