There’s something I want you to understand, your life has been shaped by what you have been through. How you approach the problems in your life comes from how you have been shaped. How you deal with the good in your life comes from how you have been shaped. How you function in relationships comes from how you have been shaped. No matter how you try, you can’t get away from how you have been shaped. Think about this, when you look at a river it has been shaped by the water that flows through it. The river was shaped by the water, and it does not have the ability to change itself. The same is true about your life, you have been shaped by the sin that was flowing through you. But, I’m so thankful we have a savior, who is able to reshape our lives. The sin in our lives wanted us to think it is not possible for us to be reshaped. Once you allowed Jesus to come into your life, He stopped the flow of sin and started to reconstruct your life. In essence Jesus reshaped your life, to let you know nothing is impossible with the Lord.
In 2 Timothy 2:10-17, Paul shares with Timothy how the Lord reshaped his life. Paul wanted Timothy to understand this is only made possible through his faith in Jesus Christ. Initially Paul reminds Timothy of the teaching he received from him and how Paul was conducting himself in the presence of Timothy. Paul lets Timothy know the things that are essential in life, along with faith. They are patience, love, and being steadfast. When you have these things in your life, you will be able to endure the persecution, because you know the Lord will rescue you. Paul then encourages Timothy to continue in what he has learned and firmly believes. Paul tells Timothy, God is the source of all scripture, and it is useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and for training in righteousness. The reason this takes place is for everyone who belongs to God will be proficient, and equipped for every good work. Therefore, when you embrace Jesus Christ, and learn from His words your life is reshaped. So, that you will be able to move forward doing good work for the Lord.
I want you to know the Lord is able to reshape your life. I know you have been told by people you can’t change because they have not been able to. But, they don’t know the reshaping power of the God we serve. Now is the time for you to step out on faith, and see how the Lord will reshape your life. Continue to walk in your blessings.
