There is something every saint ought to be, and that’s to be humble. Why, because you remember when the Lord chose you, this was something you didn’t think was possible. You remember what was taking place in your life, and the Lord was not a priority. However, you were a priority for Him. He knew all that was going on in your life, and still He chose you. The Lord came into your life during a low point to let you know; it’s time to rise and that is exactly what you did.
All of those things that were weighing you down were removed, and the Lord began to lift you up. Initially, you were concerned with this happening because you thought your mishaps of the past would be exposed. That didn’t happen, because the Lord was cleaning you up as He was raising you up. When the Lord started working through you, you saw how people were being blessed. This is what humbled you, because you did not see yourself being used by the Lord. In John 15:16, Jesus says something which will help every child of God understand the work you are doing. In the beginning of this verse Jesus says, “You did not choose me but I chose you.” This is a statement of love, because the Lord knows all about you.
The twelve disciples were individuals that nobody thought would become the leaders in spreading the Gospel. This group that Jesus formed were not those of high society or highly respected, they were common people. Also, in this group was a tax collector and the one who would betray Jesus. All of them were hand picked by Jesus, and He knew once they stepped out after He was resurrected there would be challenges. Some will question their authority because they were not educated like the Pharisees. The Pharisees would attempt to belittle them, because they were common people. However, when they were confronted with these and other situations, they knew Jesus had given them everything they needed to be victorious. Saints, it does not matter what people think about you, continue to remind yourself Jesus chose me. Therefore, you will walk by faith knowing Jesus is blessing, empowering, and using you to show the world you can do great things in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus also says in this verse, “And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask Him in My name.”
Jesus chose you through love, now you have to move forward in your purpose, and that is to bear fruit. The fruit you bear will last, because you are doing as the Lord instructs. Once they are saved you will teach them how to live a victorious life in Jesus Christ. Also, you will let them know they did not choose Jesus, Jesus chose them. Let them know this was done through the love that our Heavenly Father has for them. Yes, obstacles will show up, and you will ask your Heavenly Father for help. Why, because this is what Jesus instructed, and He will make a way for you. It does not matter what people say about you, remember Jesus chose you. Yes, you have faults and made some mistakes in your life, but the Lord sees the potential within you. So, it’s time to rise and move forward doing as the Lord guides. I want you to know the Lord has set you up to be victorious in your ministry. Continue to walk in your blessings!
