In Luke 7:11-17, we read about a widow heading out the gate to bury her only child. This woman is probably feeling alone, because all she had was her son. Then he dies and she is leaving town weeping as they prepare to bury him. As they were leaving town, Jesus entered and saw this woman. In verse 13, it tells us Jesus had compassion for the woman. In essence Jesus saw the amount of suffering she was dealing with, and the pain she was going through was a lot to bear. Then Jesus approached the woman and said, “do not weep.” I know this must have been odd for someone to say this to her, especially someone who did not know her. Then He stops the people carrying the dead man, and He does the unthinkable. The widow is struggling to comprehend what is happening, His disciples are wondering what Jesus is doing. Then Jesus says to the dead man, “Young man, I say to you, rise!” The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Everyone was amazed with what happened and began to glorify the Lord. Jesus restored hope to a mother who was feeling hopeless, because everybody she loved was gone. This is an example of how nothing stays the way it is when Jesus shows up. Also, how the Lord will turn mourning into dancing. Whenever Jesus shows up, expect the unexpected, believe the unbelievable, and think the unthinkable. You serve a God that sent His Son to bring hope to the hopeless. How should you respond once Jesus arrives, begin to praise the Lord. When Jesus shows up, He will turn everything around.

I’m encouraging you to turn everything over to Jesus, and I believe He will make a positive impact in your life. The enemy wants to weigh you down, to cause you to think about giving up.
