We are living during a time when a number of things are called into
question. Prior to the change in the White House, many questioned the
responsibilities of the president. We saw the video of George Floyd being
choked to death by a police officer keeping his knee on his neck. Even
when George kept saying I can’t breathe, we questioned if blacks can be
treated fairly in this country. When we saw the number of people that
stormed into the capital building, we questioned if we are really the United
States of America?
Then we read in Matthew 16:13-17 , Jesus asked His disciples, “who do
people say the Son of Man is?” They stated some thought He was John the
Baptist, others named various prophets. Jesus wanted to know if what the
people thought would determine how His disciples viewed Him. The people
only caught glimpses of Jesus when He past through their towns, and he
healed the lame, blind, and sick. However, His disciples spent a
tremendous amount of time with Him, because they travelled with Jesus.
Now Jesus ask His disciples, “who do you say that I am?” They were quiet,
then Peter said, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus
told Peter you are blessed, and you did not get your answer from people,
but it was revealed to him by God.
We are living through a pandemic, and the number of deaths are steadily
increasing. The question I’m asking you is “do you know Jesus?” Your
response to the question is the determining factor on how you are living
through the pandemic. The only way you are able to give an adequate view
of Jesus is through revelation from God. If your answer is based on how
others view Jesus, it will not be accurate. When we accept Jesus as our
Savior and Lord, then God the Father will open our minds to the truth.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and our Heavenly Father will make
it clear to us, that Jesus is the Son of the living God!
Once you know who He is, you will realize what He is capable of doing in
your life. You will see how He is able to make an impact in the lives of
others. You will also experience a peace that surpasses all understanding,
and you will know everything is going to be alright. Why, because I know
who Jesus is and what He will do. Continue to walk in your blessings.
