There are some who wonder why the Lord moves in a manner which may appear to have confusion and chaos. They look at situations where the Lord is doing a work causing people to be at odds with each other. The Lord does cause the disruption to redirect our lives, but we are unable to understand what He is doing. We struggle with this because it goes against what we are familiar with. I want you to think about this: in order to plant seeds in the ground, you have to disrupt the soil. In order for the Lord’s will to be done in your life, there will be some disruptions. Why? Because, the Lord has to change your direction, and initially it creates confusion for you. With the direction shifting in your life, you are now moving to the unfamiliar. It’s hard to embrace it, but the Lord will continue to encourage you to trust in Him.
In Matthew 1:18-25, this is exactly what happened to Mary and Joseph. Mary was preparing to start her life with Joseph, but the Lord stepped in. There was a disruption, Mary was found to be with a child from the Holy Spirit. The Lord redirected her life, and there was going to be a domino effect. Joseph did not believe what had taken place, so he had planned to quietly dismiss Mary. This situation had created confusion and chaos for Joseph. I believe he felt as though Mary had betrayed him, but the love he had for her would not allow him to publicly humiliate her. That night the Lord sent an angel to speak to him in a dream explaining the situation, and the purpose for what was happening. The Lord would not allow confusion or chaos to win. The Lord was not only redirecting Mary but Joseph as well. These were two ordinary people the Lord was doing an extraordinary work through. We don’t know why they were chosen, but the Lord knew they would be faithful in moving forward after the disruption. By them being faithful has allowed the entire world to receive a gift that will cause a disruption in our lives. To allow us to receive the gift of eternal life, and for us to no longer be bound by our sins. Do you realize the gift you received from the Lord came to create a disruption in your life? For you to no longer be lost, broken, and hopeless. You are a new creation capable of doing things you didn’t know was possible. How, through the disruption of the gift redirecting your life, causes you to move forward living your life to glorify the Lord! Thank You Lord for creating this opportunity. Continue to walk in your blessings.
