If you were asked how important it is to pray, what would be your response? Would you say prayer is a major part of your life, because it allows you to communicate with the Lord. Prayer is something you do on a continuous basis to ensure you are doing the Lord’s will. Also, I pray letting the Lord know I appreciate all that He is doing for me. When I’m dealing with situations, I pray asking the Lord for guidance and protection. There is something that is a necessity when you pray, and that is faith. Faith is essential in the life of a Christian, because it allows you to have confidence in knowing the Lord will respond. The answer may not be what you expect, but your prayer will be answered. There is more that could be said, but I think you understand the importance of prayer in the life of a Christian.
In Psalm 32:6-7, the writer wants to share the impact of having a prayer life. Also, what is needed in order to pray if you expect the Lord to respond. In verse 6 the writer wants, all who are faithful to offer prayers to the Lord. The writer is letting it be known faith is essential when you pray. When you have faith in the Lord, then you have a relationship with Him. It’s through this relationship you have the ability to communicate to the Lord and He will be attentive to your prayer. Therefore, during a time of distress when you pray, you can expect the Lord’s protection. In verse 7, the writer wants to let it be known the Lord is your hiding place, and will preserve you from trouble. This occurs because you have a relationship with the Lord. Through this relationship, the Lord will be your deliverance from all situations. This is what the writer has experienced through having a relationship with the Lord.
Your relationship with the Lord is the foundation you must build upon. This foundation is established through your faith in the Lord. By having this foundation you are able to grow by taking everything to the Lord in prayer. Knowing the Lord will take care of you at all times. The key to building your relationship with the Lord is to stay in constant communication with Him. How is this done; through prayer. This is how I’m able to grow and move forward doing His will. Prayer keeps me close to the Lord.
