Think about this, from a young age we were always instructed to sit still and be quiet. When we were toddlers being brought to church, we were told to sit still and be quiet. When we started school, we were told to sit still and be quiet. When we went to the movies we were told to sit still and be quiet. Granted, there are times we need to sit still and be quiet. What we were instructed as children has continued in our adult life when it comes to church. Many people sit still and our quiet in service. This is a time when silence is not an option. In Luke 19:28-40 is the story of Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As Jesus was approaching the city riding on the colt, the people were praising Him for all the deeds of power they had seen. When the Lord is being praised, there are some people who are not embracing what is taking place. This was also true when Jesus was entering the city. The Pharisees said to Jesus “order your disciples to stop”. Jesus responded “I tell you, if these were silent , the stones would shout out”. In essence Jesus was telling them silence is not an option. We know all the Lord has done for us and we have seen it. So, how can silence be an option for the people of God? Some of us have continued, as we were taught as children, to sit still and be quiet.
It’s time to break the silence because you have seen what the Lord has done for you. You will not be scolded for praising the Lord, just the opposite will happen. When praises go up, blessing come down. The question is do you want to see how far the Lord will take you? Then stop sitting on your hands and rise to your feet, and praise the Lord for all He has done for you!
