When we look at what is taking place in our country, it causes us to become angry. The reason for our anger is the number of lies that are being told, and it appears many people are accepting them as truth. When people are attempting to establish a foundation on lies, whatever they build on it will not last. Lies are not sustainable; therefore, they cannot support anything built on them. Eventually, everything associated with it will come crumbling down. When this happens, it will create more Chaos when those who support the lies still will not accept the truth. We are in troubling times. In Psalm 50:15, the psalmist tells us what we need to do.
The first statement in this verse says, “call on me in the day of trouble”. When we are faced with trouble, the Lord wants us to call on Him. Why, because we are incapable of overcoming the trouble without His help. The enemy would prefer for us to attempt to take on the trouble by ourselves because he knows we can’t win. When he defeats us, he expects us to give up. The defeat exposes our weaknesses and we realize there is no way for us to win. Therefore, he expects us to shift from being excited about life, to where we are just surviving from one day to the next. This is why we have to call on the Lord because our God is able to defeat the enemy. It’s during times of trouble when we understand the capabilities of the Lord and there is nothing He can’t conquer.
The next statement in this Psalm says, “I will deliver you”. This is why you have to call on the Lord because He will deliver you. The Lord loves His children and will do whatever it takes to get us out of trouble. There are too many people broken and lost because they will not call on the Lord. The call must be made for deliverance to happen. Yes, you may have caused the trouble, so asking the Lord to deliver you does not appear to be an option. A number of the problems we face were caused by us, but don’t let that stop you from calling on the Lord. When you call on Him, the first thing He does is look at your heart and will see if you are sincere. When He sees your sincerity, you will receive His grace and mercy, and be delivered.
The last statement in this verse says, “and you shall glorify Me”. Once you called on the Lord, and He delivered you from your troubles. He expects you to glorify Him. The first thing you do is worship and praise Him. Then you live your life in a manner others can see who is the head of your life. When they come asking you questions about how you live, then you let them know what the Lord can do. This will give them an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Continue to walk in your blessings.
