The one thing we cannot ever let go of in our lives is love. Love is a foundation principle in Christianity. When we look at the life of Jesus Christ, the one thing evident in everything He did was love. We read on numerous occasions when it states Jesus was moved with compassion. In essence, everything Jesus Christ did was based on love. Therefore, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are to follow His lead and allow love to be our foundational principle. We can do everything right, but if people can’t see the love nothing good will come from it.

In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul dedicates this entire chapter to the principle of love. Paul wants the Corinthians to know it does not matter how well you do something, if love is not a part of the foundation nothing will come from it. Paul was moved by hate prior to becoming a Christian. When he was attacking the believers of Jesus Christ, he was motivated by hatred. He did not care at all about them and he wanted to stop them; at all costs. No matter how many Christians he caught, they continued to do the Lord’s work because they were moving based on the principle of love. When Paul had his encounter with Jesus, and He did not kill him, He turned Paul’s life around.   That’s when he realizes everything Jesus does flows through the love He has for the world. In verses four to seven, Paul identifies the character of love. Then he writes in verse eight, “love never ends.” No matter what spiritual gifts we have on earth, they will come to an end. However, love will continue throughout all eternity. He closes the chapter by saying, “now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.” Think about this, when we transition from earth to heaven, we will not need faith or hope. Why, because we will be in the presence of the Lord. However, when we see Him we will continue to be filled with His love.

I want you to remember, only what you do for Christ in love will last. So, whatever is being a hindrance to you serving the Lord with love, move it out your way.  If it is not dealt with, your efforts will be in vain. The plan of God is about bringing change to the lives of people.  Therefore, It’s all about love, in order to make a difference.

Continue to walk in your blessings.
