In Psalm 122:1, the psalmist stated, “I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord”. I wonder what was the psalmist dealing with, prior to being asked to go to the Lord’s house? Was he dealing with health issues, financial issues, family problems, or feeling overwhelmed by life. We don’t know, but whoever he confided in encouraged him to come with them to the house of the Lord. This immediately changed his emotional state, because in receiving the invitation, it made him glad. Why would this person be glad to go to the house of the Lord? The psalmist truly believed the Lord would be able to make a difference in his life. The invitation triggered something in him, to reflect on what the Lord had done before. Therefore, he was going and expecting the Lord to do great things for him. By taking this approach he was no longer focusing on his problems, but on the Lord who was going to solve them.

Saints, we have to remember our attitude will determine our outcome. If you don’t expect anything when you attend Church, there is a good chance you will leave the same way you came in. However, when you are excited before you enter the Lord’s house, you come to praise and worship Him. By making this decision to take this approach you will leave better not bitter. Because, when you come to praise the Lord, He will respond by sending down blessings upon you. This is why we ought to respond to attending Church service by saying, I’m glad to be here. There was a time that attending Church was not a thought in our minds. However, the Lord never gave up on us, He continued to knock on the door of our hearts. This is why we are glad to be in the Lord’s house, because He is blessing us! Saints, are you glad to be here? Continue to walk in your blessings.
