In Luke 8:22-25, shares the story of Jesus calming the wind and the waves. There is something I want you to see as you read these verses that are applicable for you today. The disciples were on the boat with Jesus, and He instructed them to take the boat to the other side of the lake. As they were following His guidance the boat was caught in a windstorm and they were doing their best to keep the boat afloat. A number of the disciples were fishermen and I know they had to deal with windstorms before. However, this one was different from any they had dealt with before. I truly believe they had a plan to keep the boat afloat, and they used maneuvers that worked before. But, none of them were working this time.  They were losing control of the boat. They realized nothing was working and the boat was taking on water. If this continued the boat would sink and they would perish.

Why was there so much turmoil since Jesus was with them on the boat and He told them where to go? The mistake many saints make is thinking since I’m going as the Lord instructs, everything will be smooth and there will be no problems. I’m here to tell you, when you follow Jesus instructions expect the unexpected to take place. Jesus never said it would be easy but He would be with us every step of the way. Think about this, where was Jesus?  He was with them on the boat asleep. The enemy will do his best to distract you, and cause you to loose focus on what the Lord has instructed you to do. The enemy’s ultimate goal is to get you to quit. The enemy will attempt to plant the seeds of doubt. Yes, you may complete what the Lord instructed this time, but you will not want to do it again. If you feel this way after the Lord has brought you through, what He called you to do. Then the seeds of doubt were able to take root in your life.

I want you to stay with me.  The disciples woke Jesus up because they were incapable of overcoming the storm on their own. Jesus rebuked the waves and the wind and there was calm. Then Jesus said to them, “Where is your faith?” For the sole purpose of planting the seeds of victory in their lives. Because the time was coming for them to go out and impact the world as Jesus instructed, and they will be faced with many storms. However, they will not give up because they have allowed the seeds of victory to grow in their lives. Through walking by faith and knowing the Lord is with them every step of the way! What seeds are you allowing to grow in your life? If the seeds of victory are growing, you are continuing to move forward doing as the Lord instructs. Yes, there have been storms you had to deal with but you made the decision to walk by faith. By doing this the Lord is getting the victory through your life. You are planting the seeds of victory. Continue to walk in your blessings!
