Some people will not purchase many items online, because they want to physically touch it before they buy it. Where others will buy everything online and if they don’t like it, they will send it back. This is where the debate begins, because some don’t want to go through the hassle of returning an item and having their account credited. Where others don’t see this as an issue, they have done this many times before without any problems. Let’s take this further in reference to God, many will say being a Christian doesn’t make sense to them. Why, because they can’t physically see the Lord, and they are not interested in being involved in serving a God they can’t see.

This makes me think about Thomas, Jesus showed up after He was resurrected and the other disciples saw Him. When Thomas came they told him Jesus was here, and he did not believe them. Thomas told them he needs to see Jesus for himself. A week later Jesus showed up again and this time Thomas was present. He was in awe seeing Jesus, and said, “My Lord, and my God!” Jesus said to Thomas, you believe because you have seen Me, but blessed are those who have not seen yet have come to believe.  In 1 Peter 1:8-9, Peter is commending those who believe, because they have not physically seen Jesus Christ. Peter states you love Him even though you have not seen Him. He also says, even though you have not seen Him, you believe in Him. But, what he says next excites him, because he says you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy.

Peter is filled with so much joy right now, because those he is writing to are exercising their faith in the Lord. Saints, Peter is letting them know through faith they are able to experience the power, love, and joy of the Lord. By making the decision to move forward in faith, they have the salvation of their souls. We are blessed through faith. You may not physically see the Lord, but with your heart fixed on Him. He is making Himself visible on the inside. Have you ever been in a situation and you were not sure what to do, but you took some time and started praying. Then you felt the presence of the Lord and you knew everything was going to be alright. The way others will see Jesus Christ is through how you walk, talk, and carry yourself through faith. This is the evidence of the presence of the Lord in your life. Also, your worship and praise lets it be known who is the head of your life. This is not something you are doing to impress anyone, but giving glory to the Lord for all He has done, and continues to do in your life. Peter knows the importance of faith, because the only way he was able to walk on water was through faith. The only way he was able to preach and three thousand lives came to Jesus Christ was through faith. Everything he was able to accomplish in his ministry was through faith.  I know it has been hard for you to move forward in your ministry, because you have given too much attention to the obstacles. I want you to focus on what the Lord has done in your life, and it happened when you decided to walk by faith. You will always be able to see what’s wrong, but in order to do right and be right you must move forward in faith. Remember, seeing is not believing. Continue to walk in your blessings!
