There is something you have to be aware of in life, and that is obstacles. Obstacles are things that will occur in your life and you have to determine whether they will impede your ability to move forward. Too often people will see the obstacle and feel they are stuck and can’t continue to move forward. Why, because the obstacle is blocking me from moving in the direction I was going. Maybe the obstacle exists to cause you to change direction. Or, maybe it exists to move your attention to the opportunity that is present. The opportunity has been there, but you didn’t see it until the obstacle got in your way. I want you to know the Lord will always have an opportunity present whenever an obstacle shows up. Remember the Lord is not setting you up to fail, but to succeed in what He is calling you to do. 

However, it’s left up to you to ask for His guidance. In Jeremiah 1:4-10, the Lord is calling Jeremiah to begin his ministry, but he is focusing on the obstacles. In verse 5, the Lord says the following, “before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” The Lord is telling Jeremiah I have a plan for your life, and it existed before you were born. Now it’s time to start your journey according to my will. He heard everything the Lord said, but he can’t shake what he believes are obstacles. What are the obstacles Jeremiah sees: his age, inability to speak, and fear of the people. Now he stated these obstacles after hearing what the Lord stated in verse five. After hearing Jeremiah’s response, the Lord shows patience. Making Jeremiah aware not to refer to himself as a boy, speak whatever I command, and I will be with you. The Lord needed him to see the opportunities, and to stop belittling himself. This is the trap obstacles will attempt to set, having you think you don’t have what it takes. This is true when you are attempting to do these things on your own. But, the Lord has touched his life and will guide him every step of the way. Therefore, the opportunities before him will allow the glory of the Lord to shine in his life.  It’s time for you to embrace the opportunities. The opportunities have been presented to you by the Lord, and He will be with you every step of the way. Therefore, you will not focus on the obstacles, because He will bless you to be victorious. With the Lord’s anointing on your life, you have what it takes to glorify Him. Continue to walk in your blessings!
