In John 9:1 – 7, we find the story of a blind man that received his sight. In this story we are told that this man was blind from birth. The disciples asked Jesus, who sinned this man or his parents? Jesus answered “Neither the parents or the man sinned; he was born blind so that God’s work might be revealed in him” (verse 3). Then Jesus told his disciple “we must work the work of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work” (verse 4). Jesus was telling His disciple we know what’s wrong, now what are we going to do about it? Jesus spit into some dirt and made mud and placed it over the blind man’s eyes, and told him to wash if off at the pool of Siloam. The man did as instructed and when he came back, he was able to see. Jesus was showing His disciples it’s time to work. There was no need to waste any more time talking about the problem, it’s time to work. Jesus was telling them it was time for God’s work to be revealed.
Jesus let His disciples know: you are blessed, to be a blessing! God’s work was going to be done by them to heal, deliver, and set free all that are in need. Therefore, it was important for them to understand not to give attention to the problems, but focus on God to receive the solutions. Also, they needed to know Jesus is light of the world, so they will not be working in the dark.
You have to know you are blessed to be a blessing. Now, it’s time to work. There are people dealing with various problems, and The Lord wants to use you, to help them. When you meet them, they will share their problems, but do not give attention to it. Continue to look to The Lord for the solution and God’s work will be revealed to you!
