The definition of the word announcement is “a public and typically formal statement about a fact, occurrence, or intention.” In 1 Peter 1:25, it states “the Word is the good news that was announced to you”. Peter is sharing with all that are reading this epistle, the Word is the good news that will change your lives. The question you can ask is: why does my life need to change? Prior to receiving the Word, you did not realize your current condition could change. Sin had clouded your ability to see beyond where you were, therefore the possibility of change couldn’t be imagined. That’s why there are a number of people you have talked to that believe nothing can get better, including themselves. This is why Jesus came to earth to take upon himself the sin of the world, and it was bound with Him on the cross. Once He died on the cross on that Friday the power of sin died as well. But, early on Sunday morning He got up with all power in His hands. To let you know He conquered death, hell, and the grave, and this is the announcement His disciples have been making.
Take some time and read 1 Peter 1:18-25, to learn all the benefits you receive, when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Also, you will be able to say “I’m God’s investment”, because God sees the potential in you to do great things. Think about this, it all started once you received the announcement about Jesus Christ. This announcement identified the fact that He was resurrected from the dead. Also, this occurred to bring change to your life, and it was not an accident, this was His intention! Be blessed indeed.
