There are so many things the Lord can use us to do when we are willing to step outside our comfort zone. Unfortunately many have become comfortable with the familiar, and are unwilling to go any further. When we take this approach, we are handcuffing the power that exists within us. There is so much more the Lord wants to do in your life, but you are blocking your blessings. I need you to understand you cannot contain the power of God. Initially, the Lord will give you helpful hints to get you to move outside your comfort zone. However, if this does not work, then you will come to a crossroads. This is where the Lord is going to challenge you, to see if you are going to trust Him with what you don’t understand and move forward. Or, will you remain in an environment that is familiar to you and not move?
This is precisely what the Lord did with Peter. He was praying on the roof and was in a trance. Peter saw all kinds of animals coming down on a sheet, then a voice told him to kill and eat. However, Peter responded, “I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean.” The voice responded, “What God has made clean, you must not call profane.” This happened three times, then it was suddenly taken back up to Heaven. Peter didn’t understand what had taken place, but the Lord was challenging him to step outside his comfort zone. Then the Spirit said to Peter, “Look, three men are searching for you. Now get up, go down, and go with them without hesitation; for I have sent you.” Peter had to make a decision on whether he was going to trust the Lord with what he didn’t understand and move forward. By placing his trust in the Lord, great things were getting ready to happen.
In Acts 10:44-48, we are able to see the power of God changes the lives of Gentiles. At the start of this chapter a gentile named Cornelius a centurion, received a vision and was told to send men to Joppa to retrieve a man called Peter. Peter came with these men to Caesarea. In these verses, we are able to see the results of his faithfulness to the Lord. When Peter was speaking to the Gentiles, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the Word. In essence, all of the Gentiles willingly opened their hearts and received the Holy Spirit. The circumcised believers that came with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on Gentiles. The Lord was letting them know this gift is inclusive to all that are willing to open their hearts to the Lord. Therefore, they are not to hold back what they have received from the Lord. They are to share it with the entire world.
What are you holding back from people that the Lord has given you? Your gifts are to be used to glorify the Lord, and to help everyone. There are too many people in the area you live in that think they are forgotten, worthless, and lost. The Lord has given you gifts to help them to make the needed changes in their lives. For them to realize their lives matter to the Lord. We serve a God who is inclusive and does not want anyone to be left behind. So, don’t hold back! Continue to walk in your blessings.
