The Lord Won’t Let You Go!I remember teaching my children how to ride their bikes without training wheels. The one statement they would say is “don’t let me go”, because they didn’t want to fall. In Psalm 37:23-25 David is encouraging all that read and hear these words. There was a time in his life when he felt deserted by all, and wondered if the Lord had let him go. In verse 23 he shares, the Lord makes our steps firm, when He approves our direction. In verse 24, when we stumble we won’t fall, because the Lord holds our hand. Through understanding the relationship he has with the Lord, he begins to reflect over his life. David makes this known from verse 25; “I have been young, and now am old, yet I havenot seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” David is making it clear the Lord won’t let you go! These are words he would write based on the evidence of his own experiences with the Lord. He knows there is no way, he could have made it this far without the Lord. He is only able to tell it, because the Lord didn’t let him go. It’s left up to us to trust Him, because the Lord won’t let you go!

What is it you are dealing with that has you thinking the Lord has deserted you? If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can rest assured you’re not alone. If you don’t know Him, He is knocking on the door of your heart wanting to come in. For your sake please let Him in, and your life will never be the same. Once you have Jesus Christ you will be able to say, “the Lord won’t let me go!”
